TIMETABLE

MORNING SESSION (starts 10:00am)

 

Welcome and Introduction

 

Brief Explanation of Writing for TV, Film, Radio and the Structure of a Team-Written Show:

Exec Producer(s); Producer(s); Storyline Editor(s); Script Editor(s); Creator/Head Writer; the Writing Team
 

 

The stages of Developing and Writing a Script:

Creating the story - the group will together create a series idea, either for TV radio, depending  on the wish of the majority of the group

bullet

The group will create the major characters for the series

bullet

The group will develop the story arc for the pilot episode

bullet

The group will come up with further different stories for the series.

bullet

The members of  the group will choose which particular episode they wish to write

 

13:00  Lunch

The pub in the village The Kings Arms, does reasonably priced  meals or sandwiches on Saturdays. On Sundays only meat meals are available, so if you are vegetarian or vegan you are advised to bring your own packed lunch to the Sunday workshop. Alternatively The Hope and Anchor, a mile and a half away in Port Carlisle offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available, free, during the workshop

AFTERNOON SESSION (starts 14:00)
 

Everyone develops their episode by writing a scene-by-scene breakdown to show how their particular episode will work

Read through of everyone's scene-by-scene breakdowns.  Discussion:

bullet

Does each episode feel the same length?

bullet

Do the characters have continuity in the different episodes?

bullet

Does  it feel like a series?

bullet

If any episode feels it does not fit with the others, what needs to be done to make it fit?
