To those of you who kindly signed up for my newsletter and updates about my books, etc, I’m sad to say that this will be the last. Hastily I add that I am fit and well, it’s just that I had intended the newsletters to be a part of my online Writing Courses – and unfortunately the uptake for them hasn’t been as many as I’d hoped.

I can understand this, the business of offering writing courses is very competitive, and I’m told that my reluctance to use social media (e.g. I don’t tweet, or Instagram, or use Facebook, or anything at all like that) has had an adverse effect. The fact is that I am lucky enough to be so busy with writing that I don’t have the time (nor, it has to be admitted, the inclination) to spend precious time on social media. To that end I realise I am the Last of the Dinosaurs, but I have decided that rather than pursue and promote myself and the Writing Courses through social media, I shall return my attention to my own writing.

This doesn’t mean I’m not available to answer any questions you may have, or give advice, if you feel it might be useful. The change will be that my Writing Courses will disappear from my website, so if you’d like to get in touch, dear old-fashioned e-mail is the method.

My website will keep running, with details of my new books as they appear. Details of my latest, INDEPENDENCE, have been added to the “My Story” page; and over the next few months the following will be appearing: REFUGEE CAMP and THE DIGGER from Cambridge University Press; WARRIOR QUEEN (the story of the Boudiccan rebellion of AD61) from Oxford University Press; and ARMISTICE from Scholastic; with more in the pipeline (topics and titles still under discussion).

So I sign off with my thanks for your interest, and do please keep in touch. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you.

With all best wishes

Jim
